From the President’s Desk……
Dear Friends,
Onam 2008
We had a hugely successful and colourful Onam celebration this year also. This was LIMCA’s 6th Onam celebrations in Liverpool. Let me take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unrestrained support and participation for turning Onam 2008 into a resounding success. The credit goes to each and every person who toiled hard to make it a remarkable event. I am sorry, I cannot fit in all the names of the individuals on this page, but we know all of you, and we appreciate your efforts. Thanks a lot, from the bottom of our hearts.
I would also like to thank councillors Paul Twigger, Dave Irwing and Josie Mullen for supporting us. Our profound gratitude to Mr. Thomas Aby – SRK Group, Mr. Vishal Bahri – SBI Manchester, Mr. Sabu Kurian – MD, St. Mary’s International, Ms. Regi Jose - Taara Arts, Adv. Dominic Karthikapally – Dominic & Co. Solicitors and Samrat Indian Restaurant for sponsoring our programmes. I would also like to thank Mrs. Chris Foss and the management of Broadgreen High school and the Management of Childwall Sports Centre for allowing us to use their premises for the programmes.
LIMCA’s programmes always stands out from the crowd with its quality, variety and innovativeness. LIMCA can be proud of setting standards for others to follow. The whole day sports events and the athappookkalam competitions with fabulous cash prizes, trophies and certificates were unprecedented in UK.
As person who was connected with LIMCA since its inception, I am very much delighted to see the progress LIMCA had attained during the past years. Braving all odds, LIMCA had grown strength to strength, year after year with the profuse support and co-operation of the Malayalee community in Liverpool. LIMCA is committed to strive for the best interest of our community. Bearing this in mind, LIMCA had drawn up a plan of upcoming programmes and projects.
Onam Souvenir 2008

Children’s Fest 2008
Children’s Fest is an ideal stage for our young generation to showcase their artistic talents and skills. It has become one of our most popular events, as the numbers of participants are increasing every year. Last year, we struggled to finish the programmes in a single day with the massive turnout. Therefore, we are splitting the children’s day into 2 days this year. More details of the event will follow shortly.
Malayalam Classes
Another important project LIMCA currently working on is to start Malayalam classes for our Children. We are discussing the details with Broadgreen High School and will keep you posted with the developments.
